Pastor and Sister Wayne Lawhorn

In December of 1993, Reverend and Mrs Wayne Lawhorn returned to Bedford for a sabbatical after years of evangelizing.  God ordained that old friendships would be rekindled in a new way. A hunger for the pure Word of God was evident, and Bible studies began. The Word of the Lord grew in the hearts of the people weekly as solid Bible truth was pursued. Many individuals visited the Bible studies during the first season of growth.  Very soon it was clear that a church was being born in Bedford.  Within the first year, sixty souls were added.  In May of 1994, God blessed The Lawhorns and their congregation with a church building on Main Street.  The desire for Bible Truth gave the assembly its name. In October of 2014 the Church moved into their current House of Worship. It is a new, beautiful large facility that can accommodate the many saints of Bible Truth.  Over the past 20 years, truth has blossomed and grown under the ministry of The Lawhorns and under God's divine providence and direction. 

Wayne Lawhorn is a Bedford native.  His wife, Brenda Lawhorn is originally from Canada.  They have four daughters, three son-in-laws, and seven grandchildren.  They are also loving the privilege of raising two little boys from Roanoke.  Come join them in worship at Bible Truth Tabernacle!
